About Our Site

AboutHumanRights was formed to offer a unique reference point on comprehensive advice on human rights.

The term human rights may be used to cover a wide variety of rights - some of which may only apply in particular situations. Information on every aspect of human rights - at home and abroad - can be found on the AboutHumanRights website.

2008 marks the 60th anniversary of the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Issued in the wake of the Second World War, the Declaration represented an attempt to set down the fundamental human rights considered to be common to all people. Today the issue of human rights is often raised, both at home and abroad - but how much do we really understand about this subject? What, exactly, are our fundamental human rights? And, why should we care?

The website explains where human rights laws come from, how they protect us and the impact they have on daily life. The articles on AboutHumanRights are impartial and factual. Whether you are concerned that your human rights have been breached or simply want a better understanding of the subject, we believe that all of the information you need can be found right here.
